Cecil Stushnoff was born on August 12, 1940. He earned his B.S.A. in 1963 and his M.Sc. in 1964 from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. In 1967, he earned his Ph.D. in botany and pomology (science of fruit and nut production) from Rutgers University.
